How Skincare Can Help Restore Facial Symmetry
Facial symmetry refers to the features on both sides of the face looking identical or balanced. On a perfectly symmetrical face, the left and right sides mirror each other in bone structure, muscle tone, and skin quality. However, perfect symmetry is very rare and unrealistic, and small asymmetries are completely natural. In fact, it is these asymmetries that make us unique.
While facial symmetry has long been associated with age-old beauty standards, the truth is, most faces are naturally asymmetrical. Genetics, aging, and lifestyle habits all play a role in how our facial features shift over time. Facial symmetry naturally changes over time due to a combination of intrinsic (genetic) and extrinsic (environmental and lifestyle) factors.to
Side sleeping, posture, repetitive movements or favoring one side while chewing or even driving may further contribute to asymmetry. Other things like collagen loss, repetitive muscle movements, and stress can lead to visible imbalance—especially in areas like the jawline, cheeks, and eyebrows.
That’s where NeuroTouch Symmetry Serum comes in. This clinically proven sculpting oil is formulated to help visibly restore facial symmetry for more sculpted-looking skin.* We can help restore the appearance of natural facial symmetry with a regular skin care routine, nourishing facial massage, and certain lifestyle adjustments.

Elevate results with sculpting technique
To amplify results, the NeuroTouch sculpting technique—developed by Dermalogica’s Professional Skin Therapists with over 30 years of experience— uses targeted massage movements known to help release tension, enhance circulation, and reawaken the skin-mind connection.

Movements: Bring the treatment room home with these guidelines for self-application or with a partner. Use light, gentle touch as you work your way through these movements. We recommend performing each step 3X.
- Neck: Turning head to side, start behind the ear and work down towards the clavicle using pinching movements to relieve tension at the back of the neck.
- Jaw: Starting at the center of the chin and working back towards the ear, make circles with pinched fingers.
- Cheeks: Using alternate hand placed over head, start at apple of the cheekbone. Hold fingers under cheekbone to lift cheek, walking fingers back towards ear.
- Eyebrows: Starting at the beginning of the eyebrow, work towards the end of the eyebrow by pinching, lifting, and circling skin.
- Forehead: Starting at the beginning of the eyebrow, use the index finger of your non-dominant hand to press and lift, while the other index finger follows behind creating a muscle vibration effect. Repeat the motion in the middle and at the end of the eyebrow.
- Final step: Spread fingertips, work from top to bottom using light pressure:
- Start at the center of the forehead and massage outward to the edges of face.
- Start at the center of the cheeks and massage outward to the edges of the face, moving towards the ears.
- Start at the center of the chin and massage outward to the edges of the face and outer jawline.
- Start at the temples, sliding down the sides of the face towards the neck.
Facial balance is dynamic—but with daily care and mindful touch, NeuroTouch Symmetry Serum offers a science-backed approach to helping restore facial symmetry for a more sculpted appearance.
